Punxsutawney Phil 2011
In Nassau County, Malverne Mel has not weighed in this year after village officials canceled the 15th annual event because of an ice storm hit the area Wednesday. It will make a brief appearace the hall at 9 am instead. Tradition has it that if the groundhog sees its shadow, winter would last six weeks.
