LOS ANGELES – Authorities say 17-year-old sophomore was a loaded gun to school when he left his backpack to assault with deadly weapon charges.
Los Angeles Police Captain Bill Hayes said the teenager was arrested and booked at juvenile after the shooting Tuesday that wounded two students.
The police caught the suspect and his mother for a few hours, and they were together. Hayes said the boy expressed remorse, and his mother was concerned about the two victims.
Hayes says it’s “likely” that the shooting was an accident, but he was negligent, that gun to school. Two students were shot and one of them remains in critical condition.
